Pay Range

$76,300.00-$104,900.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.   Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus. 

Position Overview: 

The purpose of the Process Engineering Technician role is to maintain and improve the manufacturing processes of Johns Manville’s facility.  The Process Engineering Technician / Production Maintenance Coordinator will drive continuous improvements in productivity and quality by driving better equipment reliability and improvements in production standard work. 

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Owns and drives improvements in AC&R process in production
  • Works with maintenance to prioritize and schedule work to meet mat department performance goals
  • Owns production PM system including planning of PM activities, writing SOPs/ PMs, directing outside contractor work, assist production supervisor with directing PM work as needed
  • Coordinates between maintenance and production for scheduling and communication of work
  • Owns TPM/ Operator Basic Care driving improvements in uptime
  • Drives improvements in Equipment Reliability for continuous improvement in productivity, yield, uptime and quality
  • Writes MOCs and completes safety/ line improvement projects
  • Owns and drives improvement in Production Preventative Maintenance System
  • Owns and drives improvement in Production Wear Items Cost/ Performance
  • Coordinates with outside contractors to execute improvement projects
  • Executes improvements projects
  • Troubleshoot and correct process / equipment problems
  • Help implement standardized processes for continuous improvement of productivity, yield, uptime and quality
  • Assist in maintaining a safe work environment
  • Assist in statistical methods and Design of Experiment (DOE) trials to optimize operating parameters and quantify improvements
  • Aid with research, approval and implementation of equipment, product and process improvement efforts
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Associate’s degree, High School or Technical School diploma with a minimum of 3 years continuous operations manufacturing work experience
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and equipment optimization preferred
  • Ability to identify, prioritize and direct production and maintenance operations for day-to-day and long-term production improvement preferred
  • Solid project management skills preferred
  • May be required to further education in technical functions such as electrical, chemical, mechanical or other engineering disciplines
  • Working knowledge of SOP/monitor and setting process perimeters
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Proven ability to lead, plan, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Fundamental understanding of distributed control systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access
  • Ability to interface at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated focus on safety
  • Proven ability to set direction for supervised employees
  • Minimal travel required (0 – 10 days per year).
  • Work environment is typical of a manufacturing facility:  May be exposed to environmental conditions of cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust/mist/gas/fumes, extensive walking or climbing, etc.
  • May be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 25 pounds.
