This is an opportunity to join the Digital Banking Platform team within American Express. As a Product Owner, you will be part of a hard-working and fun team that develops and delivers next-generation capabilities for banking products and benefits to our customers.
The Product Owner in the Enterprise Platform - Digital Banking team is responsible for the timely and accurate handling of development and deployment of features enabling regulatory compliance and leading audits and exams. The incumbent requires strong organizational, technical, documentation, analytical, collaborative, and creative problem-solving skills. The selected candidate will work well in a dynamic, complex environment and under deadline pressures. Supports other product managers in order to convert the regulatory roadmap into a release cycle and coordinates the efforts of engineering’s teams within a SAFE approach to deploy the new features across markets and products.
The Product Owner will report and assist the Manager - Product Management. The incumbent will have a solid understanding of American Express business and operating models, platforms, products, and services, understand the key risk and regulatory areas and identify due diligence regulatory controls across the core digital banking ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Support to enable effective assessment of controls, support audit readiness and requests by consolidating documentation, evidence, and engage appropriate teams
- Define product outcomes with clear metrics and targets for the product segment, in line with the high-level product portfolio vision and strategy and company, organizational outcomes
- Work with key partners and colleagues to implement a product and regulatory roadmap aligned with the platform vision
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the processes, risks, controls, and regulatory domain
- Adapt quickly to a fast-paced ecosystem and regulatory changes, validate action plans, identify gaps, and document results
- Manage and support multiple processes in a high-pressured environment
- Assist in identifying risks and challenges to deliver on timelines
- Support to identify resolution of risks, issues, and changes tied to the product backlog
- Maintain vital documentation and records to assure efficient and consistent regulatory compliance efforts
- Agile approach and transformation champion
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in Product Management with proven track record in supporting to deliver a product roadmap
- Proven track record of getting results
- Ability to absorb and understand information quickly, from a number of sources, and then process this to inform logical business solutions is essential
- Creative in seeing opportunities for products, services, new processes, and systems improvements
- Financial services industry understanding of related products, services, features, economics, and key regulations
- Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple deliverables
- Strong Data Analytical & PLSQL Skills, ability to create and support data pull request independently using SQL queries in Cornerstone and Lumi
- Good balance of technical knowledge and business acumen and experience working with third parties
- An established background in launching software or services in partnership with engineering teams and high degree of proficiency in prototyping, iterative development, Scaled Agile Framework, and principles
- Solid understanding of how to write features and user stories with acceptance criteria
- Excellent communication skills to drive collaboration and alignment
- High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability
- BS, or equivalent degree in Business, Computer science, Information Technology or equivalent
Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
