Compensation Range: 48,375.00 - 50,000.00, commensurate with experience.

Schedule: M-F, 8am-6pm and hours outside normal working schedule as necessary.

Job Description:

1) Grants Office Organization - Coordinates operational support for the Grants Office. Utilizes various computer and office skills while providing pre-award and post-award administrative support. Furnishes and obtains information, resolves routine problems, assists with procedures, processes and requirements, and performs other customer service responsibilities.

2) Grant Development - Coordinates with Director, Grants Development Lead Coordinator and project teams to effectively use planning tools to organize thoughts and help teams synthesize ideas into a concept. Quickly learns general understanding of new subjects to guide projects in an efficient manner and align to potential grant opportunity. Must exhibit organized, detail-oriented planning with effective notetaking ability.

3) Grant Writing - Prepares content and writes proposals and sections of proposals. Proofreads written sections for edits to ensure accurate grammatical and spelling usage as well as appropriate response to each required section. Able to concisely and effectively request additional information from project team. Writes reports requiring the drawing of conclusions and original thought. Originates and creates data fields, spreadsheet criteria, formulas and report formats. Manages databases used by the Grants Office including Salesforce and grants management system. Develops reporting and record criteria.

4) Administrative - Coordinates scheduling for Director and Grants Office. Coordinates schedules for pre-and post-award activity. Schedules rooms for Compression Planning® events to ensure appropriate accommodation requirements are made. Performs administrative and clerical support for the Grants Office. Serves as initial point of contact for the Grants Office and screens for external access to the Director. Performs responsibilities directly related to the administration and general business operations of the Grants Office. Coordinates requests and reimbursement for the office. Utilizes various computer and office skills while providing administrative and clerical support. Furnishes and obtains information, resolves routine problems, assists with procedures, processes and requirements, and performs other customer service responsibilities.

5) Speaks for the Director on routine matters, and exercises sound judgment and discretion in dealing with matters on behalf of Director, including grants development coordination, and planning priorities. May represent the Director at meetings or in communications in matters delegated by the Director.

6) Maintains excellent working relations with the public, faculty and internal contacts as representative of the College, Grants Office, and of the Director. Advises and influences Grants Office customers on
various matters.

7) Completes special projects as assigned. Determines and implements methods and research for completing projects in consideration of overall goal and project results.

8) Works assigned schedule exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works outside of normal schedule as needed to meet workload demands.

9) Performs other related duties as required.

Frequently sits at a desk, and regularly stands and walks. Frequently talks and hears on the telephone and in person with office visitors. Frequently exhibits close vision requirements when working on the computer equipment. Frequently uses hands to handle and feel, exhibit digital dexterity when performing production typing, word processing and other computer applications. Employee occasionally lifts up to 10 pounds.

Working Conditions: Normal office working conditions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of: program or functional area. Skill in: verbal and written communications; routine typing; application of job related computer software; operation of job-related equipment and other equipment; maintaining documentation and records. Ability to: coordinate program or functional area operations; coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks; develop and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, students, general public, and other job contacts; maintain confidential and sensitive information; effectively work with persons of varying cultures and diversity.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in office Administration, English, Business, Communication, or an appropriately-related field of study. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

Preferred Qualifications: Two years' of technical writing experience, one year of experience working in an office with externally funded projects, and experience working in higher education. A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organizational and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making. Technologically savvy with cloud storage solutions and proficient user of databases.
