Essential Job Duties:

• Create and maintain detailed project plans
• Create and maintain baseline schedule, scope, and cost
• Ensure that all tasks are appropriately scheduled (dependency, dates, resources, effort)
• Ensure critical path is understood and managed
• Ensure milestones are defined and met
• Communicate expected deliverables and ensure accountabilities for the on-time completion of assigned work
• Work with client teams to make sure project plans are approved and signed off, client tasks and deliverables are communicated to the client team, and are held accountable for their deliverables
• Create and maintain logs for risks, action items, issues, and key decisions, escalating as appropriate
• Conduct continuous risk assessment and risk response planning
• Create resource plans, obtain resources, and manage assigned resources for the project
• Work with team to identify and remove roadblocks
• Establish and maintain relationships with functional organizations
• Comply with PMO processes for schedule management, cost management, scope management, and risk management
• Identify and manage stakeholders
• Ensure all stakeholders are kept informed and are appropriately included in decision-making as needed
• Monitor project progress, create and distribute ongoing project status reports
• Identify, track, and report on project metrics as needed to leadership and executive teams
• Develop presentations and facilitate steering committee meetings
• Ensure an effective governance model is defined and implemented to ensure project success
• Participate in cross-functional and client meetings and work sessions related to new products and services, process improvement, operational issues, change management, and other related subjects
• 25% Travel to client sites

Skills/Qualifications:

• Thorough understanding of project management; PMP certification preferred
• 5+ years (minimum) experience working as a Project Manager in operations and business environment
• Experience with managing external clients, preferably in the Utilities Industry
• Highly organized and able to wear multiple hats in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment; a driving force who manages toward clarity and solutions
• Self-starter, able to work independently on own initiative and as part of a team
• Successful track record in setting priorities, shaping processes, guiding investment in people and technology, and developing an infrastructure that creates a more robust and efficient operation
• Ability to learn quickly and provide value when placed in unfamiliar settings
• Ability to manage internal and external expectations, including client
• Ability to meet deadlines on aggressive schedules
• Ability to multi-task and to give and take direction
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Excellent communicator of ideas both orally and through documents and other visual aids
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Methodical approach to planning and working
• MS Office Suite Proficiency (including Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel)
