Project Specialist - Enterprise Publishing for Datacentricity

Under minimal supervision, develops standard work and drives completion of tasks in support of the Datacentricity Program within the Commercial and Industrial Business Unit. This role may work as a liaison with Operations and IT to assure goals and objectives are met within an arranged timeframe. Defines and manages tasks associated with the administration and creation of report templates to be housed in EPIC and available to Users via the Datacentricity Workbench. Ensures these solutions meet or exceed program and business expectations.

  1. Assists with the administration of the report template development process, as well as with the actual creation of new generic and custom report templates required for the completion of UL's Product Certification and Field Surveillance activities within UL's new datacentric environment.
  2. Coordinates and collaborates with Industry Leads and Subject Matter Experts (SME) as needed to gain agreement on the specific report template needs and through UAT testing, validate the report output display.
  3. Works with IT system support and the datacentricity team to resolve enhancement requests, and respond to questions, issues and risks in support of the Industry's Datacentricity efforts.
  4. Consults with business and technical teams to refine necessary requirements.
  5. Supports the coordination of tasks directly related to template development and maintenance activities.
  6. Develops, documents and shares best practices for all aspects of the EPIC output report template development and maintenance processes.
  7. Supports the Global Datacentricity Training as necessary.
  8. Supports the development of analytical monitoring reports and validation processes for the EPIC template activity and overall Datacentricity Program.
  9. Supports the development of technical enhancements including trouble shooting solutions, business user testing, and production deployment with a focus on the EPIC report template process.
  10. Assists with the overall EPIC output report template development and administration.
  11. Performs other duties as directed.


  • Strong project and time management, and organizational skills, with an emphasis on managing completion of tasks by non-direct reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work with people of various levels and units in the company.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with a high attention to detail, while maintaining excellent quality and superior customer service.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization with teams that may be virtual in nature.
  • Comfort and flexibility working in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge related to:
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Excel.
  • Knowledge and experience of Autotag/Windward a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with SQL/datamining .
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and assist with support.
  • Ability to collaborate, engage and manage resources outside of the Datacentricity Team.
  • Ability to influence resources towards on-time task completion.
  • Ability to work remotely (self-directed; minimal supervision).
  • Ability to identify when and how to escalate issues.
