Dierbergs Markets is seeking an experienced and driven Quality Assurance Manager to lead the oversight of Food Safety Plans and Food Quality Standards in our Central Kitchen. This hands-on technical position is critical to ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, maintaining high food quality standards, and driving product development initiatives. Collaborating closely with the Operations team, this role supports our Grow Every Day mission by delivering product safety, fostering innovation, and achieving operational success.

How You'll Make an Impact
Ensuring Food Safety Compliance
- Maintain food safety programs that meet federal and state regulations including HACCP, HARPC, FSMA, GMPs, SOPs, and SSOPs.
- Keep the Food Safety Plan current and comprehensive, including Vendor Certifications, Hazard Analysis, Flow Charts, Internal Audits, Pest Control Program, Environmental Monitoring, and other compliance required documentation.
- Maintain all logs and record-keeping for all required compliance programs.
Training and Development
- Educate and mentor Associates and Managers on food safety, quality, and sanitation standards.
- Participate in the orientation of new Associates and administer safety, food-handling and sanitation educational classes on an on-going basis.
Driving Product Quality and Development
- Partner with the Prepared Foods Managers to test and refine new ingredients, recipes, and production methods.
- Conduct shelf-life studies, sensory taste panels, and monitor recipe yields to ensure product consistency and quality.
- Maintain organized archives of product testing and sample records.
Executing Operational Standards
- Collaborate with plant management to enforce quality assurance standards and sanitation practices.
- Investigate and resolve food quality concerns from stores or customers, maintaining detailed logs for recalls and corrective actions. Maintain records and logs of all product issues and recalls.
- Leverage software system, Eatec, and similar systems to ensure production compliance and efficiency.
- Audit finished products to confirm alignment with specifications, standards, weights, and visual presentation.

About You
- Bachelor's degree in food science, Food Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in food service or manufacturing, with at least 2+ years of experience in a management or supervisory role.
- Expertise in food safety systems and regulatory requirements, including FSMA, HACCP, HARPC, GMPs, and sanitation processes.
- PCQI Certified preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to coach and hold Associates accountable.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and organization skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to work in the various environments of the plant from 40 degrees in the cold zone to 100+ degrees in the hot zone.
- Able to adapt to a flexible schedule, with a primary focus on Monday-Friday. Evening and weekends may be required during peak production periods.
