The University of Iowa, Division of Immunology in the Department of Internal Medicine is recruiting a rheumatologist for a faculty position at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in the clinical (non-tenure) or tenure track, depending on qualifications. This position is not eligible for university sponsorship for employment authorization.

Patient care will occur at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa River Landing, and/or the affiliated Iowa City VA Medical Center.   

Education Requirement:

  • M.D. degree or equivalent

Required Qualifications: 

  • Candidates must have an M.D. degree or equivalent and show completion of an ACGME accredited residency and fellowship program
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy interactions with students, staff, and faculty.

Certifications: 

  • Board certified/eligible in rheumatology

Desirable Qualifications: 

  • Experience in rheumatology is preferred
  • Evidence of a commitment to clinical teaching, clinical research and/or outcomes research is desired
  • Demonstrated experience promoting an inclusive culture in the workforce and academic environment
  • Demonstrated experience and interest in basic, translational, or clinical research
  • High levels of creativity with demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Leadership and interpersonal strengths in relationships with colleagues, staff, and patients
