Job Summary

The laboratory of Dr. Ashlan Kunz Coyne is seeking a Scientist II.

The Scientist II will independently design, plan, perform and analyze pharmacological and microbiological assays as directed by the principal investigator. Independently design, plan, and perform health outcomes research using patient data collected from the electronic medical record. Accurately enter data and perform data analysis using statistical & graphing software. Work diligently and independently on the projects that will result in the generation of high-quality data.

They will analyze data generated by technical staff and self and incorporate to the success/failure of goal achievement as they apply to specific projects and suggest alternative methods of studying various problems/unknowns.



The Scientist II will also conduct simulation science by (1) employing sophisticated simulation techniques to recreate real-world scenarios and assess the impact of environmental chemical exposure, (2) developing and utilize pharmacokinetic models that describe how chemicals are absorbed, distributed, metabolized, and excreted in the body (3) incorporated machine learning algorithms to improve the predictive accuracy of the models and enhance risk assessments (4) employed specialized software to conduct complex simulations and analyses.



Additionally they will prepare data for oral and written presentations/reports for weekly group meetings, contribute to the preparation and assembly of research grants and mentor lab personnel and grad students.
