
Scrum Master - FIFT FFO
Job Description:
As a Scrum Master in FIFT Domain, you will bring deep scrum expertise with a passion for mentoring and coaching, and constant improvement in an Agile methodology environment. As part of two highly collaborative squads in the FFO Product Area, you will advise, mentor, coach, and train on performance against agile values, practices, and processes to accelerate squad value delivery.
Working in partnership with the Squad Leader, you will maintain the backlog for two cross-functional squads, assist in removing impediments and facilitating Agile meetings including the daily scrum, sprint planning, backlog refinement and post sprint retrospectives. You will have responsibility for release management coordination and participate in scaling meetings and activities as you manage interdependencies across squads. You will examine and drive team performance through metrics and find opportunities for the squad to fully realize the benefits of working in an agile structure.
- Collaborating with Squad leaders and Chapter leaders to enable delivery of the squad's mission through well-executed sprints.
- Accelerating overall squad performance, efficiency and value delivered and seek opportunities to improve agile maturity and metrics, and providing coaching, training, and resources.
- Maintaining and updating squad performance metrics (e.g., burn-down charts) and artifacts to ensure accurate and clear feedback to the squad members and clarity to other partners.
- Facilitating, coordinating, and participating in agile meetings (e.g., backlog prioritization, sprint planning, daily scrums, retrospectives and more)
- Supporting business requirements review, systems requirements and capability analysis, solution design, and working closely with business partners and the development team.
- Collaborating with Squad leader in developing artifacts that articulate both business and technical needs and support efficient and effective solution delivery; ex. functional and non-functional user stories, process maps/workflows, system diagrams
- Supporting adoption, and consistent use of enabling tools (e.g., Jira, Jira-Align, Miro, MS Teams)
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree.
- CSM or equivalent required, Advanced-CSM or equivalent preferred.
- Jira experience required. Additional experience with Confluence is a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience working in an Agile environment. Scrum Master experience required.
- Excellent communication and social skills and can rapidly build trust and positively influence others at all levels of the organization.
- Proven change agent capable of coaching agile practices to teams and individuals from across various functions, experiences, and geographies as they work through new and unfamiliar situations.
- Effective facilitator and can brainstorm with the team to generate solutions that address challenges and roadblocks to accelerating value delivery.
- An intellectual curiosity and passion for developing new skills and modeling a culture of continuous learning, mentoring, and coaching.
- Exposure to and/or experience with high-volume, high-speed enterprise transaction processing systems is beneficial.
- Exposure to and/or experience with cloud-based (particularly AWS) compute platforms is useful.
- Comfortable leading squads with a broad set of technologies, including programming languages such as Python and Java, testing frameworks, Jenkins CI/CD, AWS, database stored procedures, and ETL technologies like Informatica.
- You will collaborate with Architecture, Data Services, and other Technology Teams to improve the performance and scalability of our applications and workflows.

At Fidelity, our goal is for most associates to work flexibly in a way that balances both personal and business needs with time onsite and offsite through “Dynamic Working.” Most associates will have a hybrid schedule with a requirement to work onsite at a Fidelity work location every alternate week, 5 days a week during their Domain’s Connect weeks. These requirements are subject to change.
