ABOUT THE ROLE:

At Resy, we are tackling hard problems with elegant solutions and scaling very quickly. As a Senior Engineering Manager, leading our offshore development team, you will play a crucial role in directly delivering on items Resy measures itself by. You will be directly responsible for leading a development team, breaking down roadmap tasks in partnership with Product, providing a second set of eyes to code reviews and mentoring both Senior and Junior Engineers. Strong written communications are critical to the success of this team. The ideal candidates can work quickly and collabratively to deliver pristine work. You thrive in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment, are comfortable challenging the status quo and are passionate about what technology is doing for the hospitality industry.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer, preferably in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • 2+ years leadership experience in a complex technical environment and/or comparable experience.
  • Hands-on engineer with expertise in developing complex, large scale enterprise applications.
  • You are comfortable working with stakeholders outside the Engineering team including our Product, Sales and Account Management teams.
  • You are well versed in breaking down and communicating technical requirements, technical project plans and technical specs from product requirements.
  • Establish and accept responsibility for engineering practices within the team for example the code review, build and release process and the effectiveness of the retrospective

You have strong expertise with the following:

  • Python Web frameworks
  • MySQL / Postgres
  • Implementing and monitoring APIs at scale
  • Documenting systems design
  • AWS - EC2 / RDS / S3 / SQS
  • Unit / Functional Testing

BIG PLUS IF YOU HAVE:

  • Project management skills
  • Dev-ops experience
  • Kafka / Celery / Flask / Django / Supervisord / MongoDB
  • SQL Performance tuning
  • Payment systems experience
  • Websockets experience
  • You enjoy at least one of the following things: shishito peppers, uni, or creme anglaise

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
