What we need

Symbotic is seeking a Senior Director, Program Management to guide and shape the future of the Breakpack System, a new, bolt-on companion product to the core Symbotic System. In this role, you will manage a multi-disciplinary team of engineers while guiding the initial product launch and expansion. You will be the liaison between our customers and Symbotic, aligning resources to deliver on commitments and creating value for customers.

What we do

Breakpack is an innovative new adapter cell, designed as a high-value add-on to the Symbotic System. The Breakpack adapter cell operates alongside or inside the Symbotic core structure, spans across all levels and integrates several robotic systems. Breakpack allows the Symbotic system to sort and deliver individual items rather than just full cases. When integrated with our full-case system, it provides our customers enormous flexibility for how they deliver items to their hundreds of stores. This is a critical and strategic product for Symbotic.

What you’ll do

  • Act as program and product owner for Breakpack. You understand how to roll out and commercialize automation technology.
  • Leverage your systems integration background to learn Breakpack processes (technical and mechanical) to create and refine processes for future Breakpack installations.
  • Work on-site to coordinate the integration of the latest version of the Breakpack system across many engineering and installation teams.
  • Gather data from all facets of the implementation process and use that data to inform decisions about engineering quality and implementation procedures, effectively maintaining a continuous improvement feedback loop.
  • Work effectively with key stakeholders (customers, sales, engineering, and customer implementation teams) with a team-first approach and ensure alignment with customer needs and overall business objectives.
  • Identify potential risks and, with key stakeholders, develop mitigation strategies to address challenges.

What you’ll need

  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience managing a large, complex program with a focus on automation solutions for distribution or manufacturing facilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership with a hands-on approach, ensuring practical and efficient solutions.
  • Success building and managing a highly talented, diverse team (managers and ICs, mixed career disciplines). Experience coaching and developing others, strengthening the overall capability of the organization.
  • Strong customer orientation. You will have poise under fire, and calmly ensure all parties are heard and considered in decision-making processes. You will inspire trust through your own actions.
  • Experience with PLC and controls systems is helpful but not required.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, MS preferred.

Our Environment

  • 75% travel is expected. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to customer and other client locations.
  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses, to be reimbursed bi-weekly.
