The Technology Business Enablement (TBE) team powers American Express Tech Strategy by enabling Predictability, Transparency, and Efficiency through best-in-class Tech Business Management capabilities. Within TBE is the Technology Portfolio Management team (TPM) which powers technology, business, and product to achieve business and customer value by optimizing technology investments, elevating transparency and enabling decisioning through trusted insights and best in class portfolio and program management.

Within the Technology Portfolio Transformation team, the Agile Solutions Manager will oversee and optimize the management of agile tools, including Jira and Rally, for our organization. This role combines operational oversight, strategic planning, and thought leadership to ensure the seamless operation and migration of these tools to Jira Cloud. The successful candidate will drive a robust agile solutions strategy, planning and implementation, and ensure effective change management to support the organization’s agile transformation initiatives.

This candidate will have a passion for process innovation, customer-centered design, data-driven mindset, relentless attention to detail, and the ability to build and leverage meaningful relationships with the team and partners.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Help develop and execute a comprehensive strategy and roadmap for migrating to Jira Cloud.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure alignment of migration goals with organizational objectives.
  • Identify and manage dependencies across teams, tools, and workflows to facilitate a smooth migration.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to plan and execute data migration, integrations, and customizations.
  • Collaborate with the Change Management team to support the adoption of Jira Cloud.
  • Communicate migration plans, updates, and timelines effectively to all stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a strategic post-launch process for training programs and resources to enable seamless user transitions.
  • Analyze and determine strategies to incorporate user feedback post-migration to ensure high satisfaction and adoption rates.
  • Support Jira administration, including creation and management of custom, complex projects, workflows, security schemes, custom fields, dashboards and reports configurations.
  • Works closely with product owners on blueprints and planning of feature sets that impact multiple platforms and products.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards, policies, and best practices for tool usage.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
    • 8+ years of experience in agile tool administration, project management, or agile transformation.
  • Technical Skills
    • Deep expertise in Jira (On-Prem and Cloud) administration, configuration, and usage.
    • Experience with Jira Cloud migration, including data transfer, integrations, and customizations.
    • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools to enhance tool functionality.
  • Leadership and Soft Skills
    • Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities.
    • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Experience in working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
    • Adept at change management and driving user adoption in large organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAFe Agilist, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or similar agile certifications.
  • Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator.

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
