Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Vice President of Operations and Director of Planning, Design & Construction, the Senior Project Manager (SPM) will oversee all aspects of the project management processes for interim space changes, renovations, and new construction. They will be NeighborHealth’s liaison to the design and construction team, representing the clinical staff and Facilities Department to ensure design standards are met, and operational readiness for both interim space changes and final unit activation have been achieved.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of capital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Manage project managers and space planner
  • Develop and manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-control measures to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Create and maintain project schedules, coordinating with team members, subcontractors, vendors and regulatory agencies to ensure timely delivery of all project phases.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, architects, contractors, and regulatory agencies, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to Department of Public Health guidelines, building codes, and life safety standards where applicable. Experience with Joint Commission is a plus.
  • Liaison between clinical end users and the design & construction teams to align needs of operations and construction implementation. This includes coordinating and communicating between the clinical end users and construction team the construction phasing impacts including utility shutdowns and interim life safety plans that affect patient care and day-to-day operations.
  • Manage the transition planning requirements to ensure accountability and responsibility by all required stakeholders.
  • Develop space fit plans in collaboration with department’s Space Planner.
  • Develop unit activation requirements for spaces in accordance with NeighborHealth’s standard operating procedures and unit activation review site walks.
  • Management of move plan and logistics planning, as well as management of decommissioning of spaces.
  • Coordination of the planning, budgeting, approval, procurement, delivery, start up and testing of FF&E and Medical Equipment, including purging needed, reuse or relocation.
  • Planning and management of fabrication and installation of temporary and permanent signage.
  • Compile reports and presentations for leadership, and document decision making process via meeting notes, financial accounting, weekly reporting, dashboards, etc.
  • Address and resolve any issues that arise during the construction process, applying critical thinking and industry knowledge.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • The ideal candidate will be goal oriented and action focused, pragmatic and self-disciplined. 
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple and shifting priorities and possess excellent time management skills. 
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to be a strong ambassador for NeighborHealth, working seamlessly with internal and external colleagues.
  • Able to complete tasks within required timeframes with little or no supervision. 
  • Proficient use of computer programs including Microsoft Office suite and construction management software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a focus on team collaboration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Minimum 10 years of project management experience leading capital projects, with a proven track record of successfully completing complex capital projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management preferred. 
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) a plus.
  • Previous experience working on construction projects within a healthcare setting a plus.
