Senior Project Manager

The Sr. Project Manager will manage initiatives for program and product delivery in a transformational, fast paced environment at VertexOne. The Sr. Project Manager will apply knowledge of all Project Management discipline areas (Scope, Risk, Quality, Financial, Communication, Schedule, and Integration) to create/maintain or lead the creation of deliverables for project planning, execution, reporting, reviewing, and decision making. They will be responsible for the planning and execution of multiple concurrent initiatives for Deregulated Markets

This position will lead other teams at VertexOne to execute multiple project objectives, including deliverables, budget performance, and schedule adherence. Experience with software implementation within the Deregulated Markets is required.

The role needs a positive "can do" attitude with a passion for delivering, self-motivation, and a proactive approach. Individuals need to take responsibility, be organized, and demonstrate a professional approach to their work.

Essential Job Duties:

• Create and maintain detailed project plans
• Create and maintain baseline schedule, scope and cost
• Ensure that all tasks are appropriately scheduled (dependency, dates, resources, effort)
• Ensure critical path is understood and managed
• Ensure milestones are defined and met
• Communicate expected deliverables and ensure accountabilities for the on-time completion of assigned work
• Work with client teams to make sure project plans are approved and signed off, client tasks and deliverables are communicated to the client team, and are held accountable for their deliverables
• Create and maintain logs for risks, action items, issues and key decisions, escalating as appropriate
• Conduct continuous risk assessment and risk response planning
• Create resource plans, obtain resources and manage assigned resources for the project
• Work with team to identify and remove roadblocks
• Establish and maintain relationships with functional organizations
• Comply with PMO processes for schedule management, cost management, scope management and risk management
• Identify and manage stakeholders
• Ensure all stakeholders are kept informed and are appropriately included in decision-making as needed
• Monitor project progress, create and distribute ongoing project status reports
• Document and distribute meeting minutes
• Identify, track and report on project metrics as needed to leadership and executive teams
• Develop presentations and facilitate steering committee meetings
• Ensure an effective governance model is defined and implemented to ensure project success
• Participate in cross-functional and client meetings and work sessions related to new products and services, process improvement, operational issues, change management, and other related subjects

Job Skills/Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years Project Management experience in the deregulated energy markets
• Product experience with VXretail and EDI preferred.
• Strong client focus
• Thorough understanding of project management; PMP certification preferred
• Experience with managing external clients, preferably in the deregulated energy markets
• Highly organized and able to wear multiple hats in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment; a driving force who manages toward clarity and solutions.
• Self-starter, able to work independently on own initiative and as part of a team
• Successful track record in setting priorities, shaping processes, guiding investment in people and technology, and developing an infrastructure that creates a more robust and efficient operation.
