Senior Software Quality Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior Software Quality Engineer to join our team.

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for acting as a a key influencer in shaping the quality strategy for the software products within an Agile Scrum framework. This role is also responsible for designing, executing, and reporting on various tests, such as functional, exploratory, integration, performance, usability, security, and accessibility. Collaborates with developers, analysts, and other stakeholders across multiple teams to identify and resolve defects, improve processes, and deliver high-quality solutions to business partners and clients. This position also serves as a mentor, coach, and example for junior Quality Engineer (QE) team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Defines and adopts holistic quality approaches that enable the whole team to pursue efficiency and excellence.

•    Collaborates with product owners and developers to define user story test strategies and actionable acceptance criteria.

•    Drives testability, measures test coverage, develops impactful automation, and promotes best practices in all stages of the software development process.

•    Designs, develops, maintains, and executes automated and manual test cases, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.

•    Utilizes technical expertise in testing backend components such as Web Services, Database integrations, and APIs.

•    Champions and brings a quality-first strategy.

•    Drives and facilitates proactive discussions about risk with stakeholders in the portfolio.

•    Investigates and reproduces complex defects, working closely with developers and product owner to facilitate resolution and completing root cause analysis.

•    Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) of the product portfolio.

•    Mentors junior teammates with empathy and a servant leadership mindset.

•    Innovates and improves testing processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

•    Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

•    Five to seven years of software testing experience is required.

•    Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines is preferred.

•    Prior experience working in the human resources or payroll industries is preferred.

•    Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks, as well as source control tools.

•    Strong knowledge of software development methodologies.

•    Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools.

•    Attention to detail and a commitment to quality standards.

•    Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

•    Proven leadership abilities with a self-starter mentality.

•    Familiarity with one or more of the following: Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, Git, Selenium, Agile methodology, C#, or Java.

Insperity provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $74,100-$117,200.
