What you will do!

The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate, communicate, and validate IT asset management purchases and inventory in the ODHS/OHA information technology structure.

The ISS4 will perform software procurement and distribution tasks commensurate with the role. This includes assisting higher level software analysts as required.

The ISS4 provides analytical and technical support for purchasing, operating, maintaining, and managing information technology assets and provides support in the decision making in identifying new technical standards and processes or modifying and enhancing existing standards and processes. The ISS4 provides technical consultation and training to users, technical assistance and coordination to IT support staff, and leads projects as assigned.

The ISS4 receives general guidance and is expected to work independently with many tasks assigned at one time. Work is assigned in terms of broad product or general project objectives. Overall performance is reviewed for technical sufficiency and conformance with standards.

The ISS4 will respond to customer and technician inquiries, completing workstation replacement tickets, maintaining database entries, maintaining ITAM documentation and file structures. The ISS4 will also assign software licenses via vendor portals, SCCM, or other agency tools.

This position is part of the Office of Information Services (OIS), Business Operations section.

What we are looking for:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Information Systems Specialist 4

(a) Three (3) years of information systems experience in:

(agency will specify specific experience);

Software licensing, procurement, installation, troubleshooting, or information technology service management (ITSM);

OR

(b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field;

AND

one (1) year of information systems experience in:

(agency will specify specific experience).

Software licensing and procurement, IT asset or inventory management or information technology service management (ITSM).

Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, sometimes within short timeframes.

This position involves frequent contact with executives, management, and staff both internal and external to the organization. It requires working with a variety of people and situations, which requires the incumbent to exercise diplomacy. Confidentiality of information must be maintained at all times. Often travel to meetings is required with some travel to trainings. There can be frequent interruptions, demanding timeframes, and non-traditional working hours. The location of this position is in an office, cubicle and/or an agreed upon remote work environment with significant use of a computer and video conferencing.

Desired Attributes:

Professional IT hardware and/or software experience required.
Professional experience with software licensing, software distribution, and technology procurement preferred.

Ability to read and understand software license agreements.

Strong customer service orientation and a high degree of responsiveness to customer requirements.
Must have strong oral and written communication skills.

Must have strong knowledge of current IT hardware and software. Strong software. Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and research skills are required.

Familiar with data quality management and governance concepts.

Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products.

Strong ability to carry out assigned tasks independently with little supervision.

Solid problem solving and consultative skills required.

Highly motivated and results oriented; strong presentation, organization, multitasking and time management skills required.


Demonstrated skill and ability to collaborate with teammates and build positive business relationships with superiors, subordinates, peers, and others outside of their organization.
