Software Engineer
The Role
Fidelity Charitable software engineers develop next-generation technology that directly impacts how our customers accomplish their philanthropic goals. As a Software Engineer within our technology business unit you will help take Fidelity Charitable applications to the next level of evolution. The position will require hands-on software development, cross team collaboration with a diverse and co-located engineering team, and the ability to visualize customer issues as drivers for internal change.
- As a member of the team you’ll craft and influence creative solutions that meet not only functional, but also performance, scalability and reliability requirements.
- Can conceptualize Object Oriented design and engineering design patterns
- Hands on experience with building RESTful Web Services/APIs
- Work as a member of a high functioning Agile team to help drive the next generation user experience for Fidelity Donor, Rep, and Advisor web applications
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience in SCRUM, SAFe, or other agile development processes
- Love of programming and rock-solid in Java/JavaScript
- Knowledge of JavaScript libraries such as jQuery and their use in building complex interactive experiences
- Familiarity with MVC frameworks (AngularJS, Backbone.js, React JS or similar) and common JavaScript design patterns
- Making use of Cascading Style Sheets CSS3 features & CSS frameworks to implement responsive web design
- Experience with database systems
- Understanding the importance of SDLC standard methodologies
- Passion for continuous integration and continuous delivery
- Your ability to work on an innovative application through all phases of software development including design, implementation, and deployment
- Your proven collaboration skills with the ability to collaborate with other developers and co-workers to produce high-quality, timely work
- You produce clean, unit-tested, and refactored code
- Perform code reviews within the team
- Strive to raise everyone's game, including your own
