Software Quality Assurance Analyst

You will be responsible for providing automated testing services for enterprise applications and infrastructure including distributed Internet technologies (J2EE, web services, etc.), client/server applications, mainframe environments and infrastructure components such as network components, server and client/PC devices adhering to QA compliance and standards.

Participate in planning, estimating and prioritizing processes to ensure successful execution of testing activities. Develop testing deliverables including test requirements, defect tracking and reporting, test plans, cases, scripts, and reports for assigned projects

Experience writing and executing test strategies and plans, test requirements, test cases, test scripts, setting up test environments, test management, test methodologies, and automated testing software along with knowledge of the Systems Development Life-cycle (SDLC) and Agile Methodology.

Test Automation
*Provide automated testing services that adhere to QA compliance and standards.
*Design, develop and execute test cases and scripts for assigned projects.
*Develop QA deliverables that adhere to QA standards including test requirements, defect tracking and reporting, test plans, cases, scripts, reports, etc. for assigned

Implementation and Support
*Participate in planning, estimating and prioritizing processes to ensure successful execution of testing activities.
*Provide expertise on automated software testing, use of software testing tools, and promote and recommend these tools when appropriate.
*Mentor others on understanding and writing automated test scripts.



  1. Initiates communication with clients to promote and explain the benefits of new and existing services. Follows-up on contacts from clients. Communicates with clients to discuss technical issues, explain UL procedures and requirements, convey project cost, and negotiate completion date and sample requirements. Acts to address client concerns and to resolve client issues. Provides technical assistance to clients in reference to product inspection and follow-up services.
  2. Establishes appropriate test programs by reviewing files and manufacturer's information, examining samples, and applying UL requirements. Notifies client of any areas in which the product is not in compliance with UL requirements or of any changes in project scope or specifications.
  3. Project Management experience. Technical: Subject Matter expert in mainframe and/or distributed automation/performance testing. Extensive knowledge of information systems elements (hardware, software, network) and their application to business functions/processes.
  4. Knowledge of automated testing tools, database concepts and MS Office. Informed and cognizant of the key processes in the business and the business rules that impact the development and/or implementation of information systems.
  5. Moderate to high level knowledge of business rules and programming logic in order to effectively trouble shoot defects that arise.
  6. Knowledge of the QA process, test management and test automation required.
  7. Drives continuous improvement through all processes, including but not limited to, team standards, test planning, resourcing and test execution, as well as debugging, metric collection, and reporting.
  8. Must have a quality assurance background.
Some University education in a related discipline plus eight years directly related work experience.
