THE ROLE

The Sr. Director – Product Management will work with the broader Investment Team to define and implement cross-asset global research and portfolio management tools. This individual will be responsible and accountable for setting the strategy for the investor toolkit and positioning this strategy within our firmwide planning framework.  Platforms in scope include the global investment research platform, the integration of the global investment platform with a new unified data platform, investment risk tools and more. This individual will also be expected to proactively coordinate across business, technology, operations, legal and compliance teams to align strategy and streamline delivery of business value to our investment team and our clients.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Responsible for the definition of a comprehensive Investment Platform product strategy and execution plan that positions MFS as a leading Asset Management provide.
  • Work with the Investment leadership team and other key stakeholders to build alignment, conduct business planning, and develop an investor toolkit vision and product strategy.
  • Convey the vision, value proposition and how this supports our overall firm strategy to relevant technology teams and more broadly across the organization.
  • Participate as a program lead for one or more firmwide strategic initiatives.
  • Engage with engineering teams to build alignment around a vision for workflows and software solutions to support the product strategy.
  • Accountable for product planning, internal reporting, and roadmaps for the product domain. 
  • Ensure execution strategy is developed and executed in line with product strategy.
  • Monitor competitors, competitive products, and market trends to continue to optimize the MFS Investment Platform. 
  • Partner with the Head of Enterprise Data and the Enterprise Data team on a holistic data and derivatives strategy that encompasses the broad needs to the Investment team and their corresponding investment toolkit.
  • Stay current on evolving investor needs, and maintain strategy and planning to meet those client needs.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and development teams to foster productive team dynamics.
  • Ensure the alignment of work and outcomes to business needs: set long- and short-term goals, establish acceptance criteria and evaluate delivery relative to these goals. Serve as a leader to collaborate and integrate the use of trading data into firmwide platforms.
  • Implement and maintain high standards of organization, prioritization, communication, and collaboration across the product management team.
  • Performs other key responsibilities, inclusive of supporting firm-wide initiatives and frameworks, as required.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • 15+ years of industry experience, previous investment experience preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of the investment environment, economic trends, financial markets and competitive trends. 
  • Strong presentation skills and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of attention to detail; proactive and diligent in responding to business and client needs
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: Open-minded approach to problem solving – commercial, yet creative – self-starter, positive attitude, team player.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop creative solutions to meet business needs.
  • Strong foundation in asset management industry, including, but not limited to, the investment and investment research process.
