Job Summary
This position involves representing the Pigman College of Engineering Transition to Engineering (T2E) program to participating and prospective high schools in the state. Job responsibilities include:
- Presenting the T2E program to high schools and high school students throughout the state, including both in-person visits (requiring travel to those locations) and virtual meetings.
- Collaborating with UK leadership and our university partners on plans for the T2E program.
- Conveying engineering knowledge and experience to high school students at participating schools throughout the commonwealth.
- Guiding high school students in the development of projects that involve coding, 3D modeling, circuits, and mathematical modeling.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
- Strong personal communication skills (preferred – experience working with high school students)
- Sufficient technical background to help student teams with high-school level projects involving Arduino-based microprocessors, sensors, and simple mathematical models.
- Strong commitment to STEM outreach in Kentucky and developing skills needed for careers in engineering
