Job Summary
The Supervisor, Maintenance provides leadership, management, accountability, solutions, and support for the maintenance operations department and staff. This role ensures grounds and facilities are maintained in accordance with local and College standards. The Supervisor manages and provides vision and direction for department staff for effective and efficient operations; and assists in the development and growth of partnerships, processes, strategic initiatives, department, and division goals as related to the mission and vision of the College.Operational Leadership
- Provides daily leadership and supervision of maintenance operations and staff. Assigns and delegates tasks, provides direction, resolves work problems, communicates job expectations, trains employees, and develops professional growth development opportunities. Carries out, explains, interprets, and enforces policy.
- Conducts annual employee evaluations, and recommends pay increases, promotions, and other personnel actions. Approves leaves and authorizes overtime as appropriate. Participates in employee selection process. Administers disciplinary actions upon approval, and in collaboration with Human Resources
Maintenance Management
- Manages work orders requests and advises leadership of requests affecting employees and operations. Schedules and prioritizes work. Performs emergency maintenance operations including snow removal, power outages, water line breaks, gas leaks and other unsafe conditions. Ensures building safety.
- Seeks out and corrects safety violations and concerns. Coordinates and schedules repairs of and oversees preventive maintenance of building equipment. Participates in planning and building phases of construction or maintenance projects. Works with project managers to ensure all work meets College standards. Serves as backup and assists public safety during evacuations or other emergency situations
Administrative
- Organizes and holds various meetings and training sessions for staff members. Participates in on and off campus meetings and seminars. Keeps accurate records. Completes and maintains required documentation including bid contracts and purchase agreements. Maintains employee records, files, and other sensitive subject matter. Acts as liaison between contractors and College personnel.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Serves on-call after hours for building and snow removal emergencies.
- Attends all required meetings and trainings.
- Works overtime as required to meet workload demands.
Minimum Education and Experience Required
- Associate’s degree or equivalent education/training.
- Three (3) years of management or supervisory experience in maintenance, facilities management, business administration, skilled trades, or a related field; OR, at least five years of facilities management experience.
Licenses and Certifications
- State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

Working Conditions
- Normal office working conditions with occasional exposure to dirt, dust, debris, and smells. Regular exposure to wet, humid or other outdoor weather conditions. Employee may have occasional exposure to minor cuts, burns or other incapacitating injury. Risk of exposure to electrical shock, fumes or airborne particles is regular. Employee occasionally works near moving parts.
