Job Description: 

Directs assembly and test activities. Plans, organizes and supervises the activities of assemblers and technicians engaged in the assembly, test and troubleshooting of RF/microwave components, subsystems and/or complex electronic modules.  Provides for optimum utilization of manpower, equipment, purchased material and facilities in accordance with cost, schedule, quality and customer requirements.  The selected candidate must have the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.  The duties and responsibilities may change from time to time without notice and include but is not limited to the duties described below.

Essential Functions: 

  • Ensures that all assembly and test activities are performed to meet quantity and quality output goals and assures conformance to work standards, production schedules and resource allocation.   Delegates work assignments and coordinates priorities to supervisory staff.
  • Able to lead direct reports as well as indirect team members (i.e., Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Sales) to resolve issues and meet goals for the department. 
  • Trains and instructs subordinates in the performance of their duties by providing them with guidance to achieve cost, schedule and quality objectives while improving their capabilities.  Recommends changes to training methods and procedures.
  • Ensures the safety of employees throughout our manufacturing and test process.
  • Plan, monitor and expedite the flow of required hardware to support the monthly revenue plan.
  • Reviews cost history of established products and designs during the bidding phase.
  • Monitor and support customer repairs using the production test resources equitably.
  • Helps plan, coordinate and control the production operation approach by supporting the engineering effort during new product introduction process.
  • Monitors work in progress and ensures that all procedures are followed in accordance with Narda-MITEQ rules and regulations pertaining to ISO/AS9100 mandates.
  • Coordinate with Operations management and Sales to respond to customer requests.
  • Participate in creation and manage to annual budget for departmental costs.
  • Identify and implement Continues improvement projects to drive Operations KPI improvement, cost reductions, and utilization rates.  
  • Participates in various product support meetings as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills with ability to exchange information with others clearly and concisely. 
  • Understands basic supervisory approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, and process execution. 
  • Typically requires broad job knowledge of technical or operational practices within assigned discipline. 
  • Familiarity with microwave test equipment and testing/troubleshooting microwave components.
  • Adept in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to obtain Secret Clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Possess a working knowledge of pertinent MIL-SPEC standards as it relates to RF/MW products.  
  • Able to lead and direct people in their daily work activities.
  • Able to work in a multi-faceted, high paced environment, interfacing with all levels of company personnel.

Salary range

  • $85,000 - $95,000 per year
