LMI is seeking a skilled Supply Chain Management Consultant at Marine Corps Logistics Command in Albany, GA. Successful LMI Supply Chain Management Consultants demonstrate competency in USMC Intermediate Supply using Global Combat Support System - Marine Corps (GCSS-MC), Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (Navy-ERP), Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) methodology, USMC / DoD Supply and Maintenance processes, Microsoft Excel and Access, a high level of attention to detail, project execution, leadership critical thinking, relationship management, and business growth while upholding the highest standard of ethical behavior.

Responsibilities

  • Support projects analyzing existing system-support supply chains including (inventory management, maintenance, and distribution).
  • Analyze complex logistics support systems and reports and determine extent of problems.
  • Analyze historical and current data to discern discrepancies, incompatibilities and redundancies.
  • Develop training materials for users of new automated systems.
  • Demonstrate and train users in the use of new and enhanced automated systems.
  • Provide consulting services on USMC logistics strategy and supply chain materiel management policy and guidance related to both weapon system lifecycle product support and all classes of supply, with particular focus on wholesale and retail level inventory management processes, policies, performance measurement and analysis.
  • Support and lead projects analyzing and making improvement recommendations on existing system-support supply chains at both the wholesale and retail levels.
  • Provide support for inventory management, provisioning, distribution, and packaging principles, concepts, policies and processes to ensure enterprise wide efficient, cost effective end-to-end logistics performance.
  • Support in establishing weapon system life cycle management sustainment activities, including statutory requirements, to establish a single supply catalogue and a standardization program to eliminate overlapping and duplicate specifications and reduce the number of National Stock Numbers that are generally similar.  
  • Support in correcting audit findings and material weaknesses in Inventory, Operating Material & Supplies, and Requisitioning.
  • Support for inventory and distribution business ideas, innovative solutions, and alternatives that will improve business practices and decision making.
  • Review and monitor Defense Components Supply Working Capital Funds programming and budgeting requirements.
  • Analyze and assess logistics and supply chain policies and procedures against current performance metrics and make recommendations on policy and/or process improvements.
  • Provide administrative and technical writing support for the successful maintenance and update of supply chain issuances and policies to include:
    • Work collaboratively with the appropriate government stakeholders to capture and articulate information for DoD and other government agency issuances maintenance and updates and;
    • Work with appropriate DoD and other government agency personnel to identify and capture current and changes in supply chain business processes for policy and procedures in issuances; incorporate policy and procedures changes into issuances based on guidance and recommendations from GAO, IG Audits and directive memorandums.
  • Provide program management support, perform data analysis, develop briefings and papers for all levels of USMC leadership, and conduct research in support of USMC logistics strategy and supply chain initiatives.
  • Prepare and finalize correspondence including letters, memoranda, briefings, speeches, presentations, meeting minutes, and reports.

Qualifications

MINIMUM:

  • Bachelors degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or similar discipline. 
  • 12+ plus years’ experience in DoD logistics and supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of commercially based advanced modeling, networking, scheduling and inventory optimization systems and techniques in order to support development of supply, inventory management, and distribution policy to improve materiel management of spare part inventories.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to use MS Office Suite to include Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written. 
  • High energy, enthusiasm, tact, ability to effectively interact with senior executives from Government and industry. 
  • Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities.
  • Availability for occasional travel.
  • This position requires an ability to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. You must be a US citizen.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelors degree (Supply Chain Management or Logistics preferred)
  • Prior military or DoD civilian/contractor experience 
  • Working knowledge of USMC Intermediate Supply using Global Combat Support System - Marine Corps (GCSS-MC)
  • Working knowledge of Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (Navy-ERP)
  • Experience with Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) methodology
  • Experience with USMC / DoD Supply and Maintenance processes
