Essential Functions:

Howmet Aerospace Structures is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Supply Chain Manager to lead our Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) function. In this role, you will be responsible for demand planning, inventory management, and production scheduling to ensure optimal stock levels and supply chain efficiency. Without an ERP system, you will leverage Excel-based models, forecasting tools, and data-driven decision-making to streamline operations and improve business performance.

Additionally, this role requires strong leadership capabilities, as you will oversee and mentor a team, drive process improvements, and collaborate cross-functionally to align supply chain operations with business goals.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a supply chain planning team (demand planners and supply chain coordinators).
  • Foster a collaborative and problem-solving culture, encouraging continuous improvement.
  • Provide training and guidance on Excel-based planning tools, best practices, and data analysis techniques.
  • Lead the S&OP process using manual Excel-based models to balance demand and supply.
  • Work closely with Sales, Finance, and Operations to align forecasts with business goals.
  • Develop forecasting models based on historical sales, market trends, and business inputs.
  • Identify and address demand-supply gaps to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Manage inventory planning across multiple locations using Excel-based tracking systems.
  • Define and monitor safety stock levels, reorder points, and inventory turnover rates.
  • Conduct manual stock reconciliations and analyze inventory variances.
  • Implement inventory control measures to reduce waste and obsolescence.
  • Create and maintain production schedules and capacity plans in Excel.
  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely procurement of materials.
  • Optimize raw material and finished goods inventory to prevent shortages.
  • Identify supply chain bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
  • Develop custom Excel dashboards and reports for SIOP performance tracking.
  • Maintain and improve Excel-based tools for demand planning, supply tracking, and KPI monitoring.
  • Present supply chain insights and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, demand planning, or inventory control.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Macros, Data Modeling).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate large datasets manually.
  • Proven experience managing S&OP and inventory planning without an ERP system.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with limited automation.
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or retail supply chain environments.
