Reporting to the Director of People Development, the Talent Acquisition Coordinator will manage the recruiting process at Holyoke Community College. This position is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end recruitment cycle for the college which involves working closely with hiring managers and department heads to attract, select, and hire qualified candidates. The Talent Acquisition Coordinator will employ various strategies and tools to source diverse and talented individuals to support the college’s current and future staffing needs.

  • Source candidates through various channels such as job boards, Handshake, LinkedIn social media, professional networks, Holyoke Community College network, and college recruitment events. 
  • Conducts background checks, reference checks, and other pre-employment screenings as required. 
  • In collaboration with the People and Talent Assistant, manages E-Verify for all new hires. 
  • Stays up to date with relative employment laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and fairness throughout the recruitment process. 
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of recruitment activities, including applicant tracking and reporting. 
  • Participates in college-wide diversity and inclusion initiatives to enhance the recruitment and retention of underrepresented groups. 
  • Collaborates with external and internal organizations and community partners to develop partnerships that support the college’s recruitment efforts. 
  • Coordinates interviews and follow up with candidates and hiring managers. 
  • Collaborates with hiring managers and search committees to understand their staffing needs and requirements. 
  • Builds a strong talent pipeline for current and future hiring needs. 
  • Maintains a candidate database and keep accurate records of candidate interactions.
  • Stays current on recruiting trends and best practices to continually improve talent acquisition strategies. 
  • In collaboration with the Director of People Development, the hiring managers and search committees, create, review and edit job descriptions.
  • Performs the onboarding process with the support of the Employee Engagement/Training Specialist, People and Talent Assistant, and Director of People Development. 
  • Administers the Massachusetts Community College Council (MCCC), American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), and Non-unit Professional appointment and reappointment process.  
  • Processes employee change forms for new hires and terminated employees. 
  • Assists with other HR projects and initiatives as needed. 

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field. 
  • 3-5 years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience.
  • Proven work experience in Talent Acquisition or recruiting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft and other Human Resources software.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently on projects. 
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group and population. 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  
  • Previous experience in a higher education environment.
  • Bilingual.

Full-time, Non-Unit Professional position

Salary Range:  $66,145.96 - $73,029.78  /year  (Grade 5) plus a comprehensive State benefits package

Hours:  37.5 hrs./week

Funding Source:  State

- All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States. HCC is not sponsoring H1B Visa.

  • $66,145 - $73,029 per year
