Position Purpose

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team trouble shooting technical concerns and offering proactive fleet management support to our customers.  They will have the ability to work from their own initiative and should have strong communication skills that will enable them to communicate successfully at all levels both within and outside the organization.


Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities

  • Manage JCB’s support for Key Account machine down lists to ensure customer machine availability. 
  • Prepare for and lead bi-weekly and monthly product performance reviews with Key Accounts
  • Provide direct technical support for customer and JCB dealer technicians.
  • Collaborate with Field DSM and in-house Service teams to expedite information, parts and service response to meet customer needs.
  • Capture and report on machine performance trends, including top support related questions, to support continuous improvement of product and training.
  • Coordinate and conduct training classes regularly at JCB or customer site as needed.
  • Support machine sales team with technical expertise, complex machine demos, and in other ways as beneficial.
  • Participate in customer visits to understand and resolve product concerns and keep Business Unit personnel as close to the customer as possible. 

Key Development Responsibilities

  • Develop deep technical knowledge of the JCB power generation product line.
  • Develop expertise in operation and troubleshooting of Engine systems from multiple OEM’s that power the generator product.
  • Develop expertise in programming and troubleshooting generator control systems from OEM’s such as Deep Sea and DEIF.
  • Develop ability to design and program utility plants utilizing multiple generators in parallel, along with power distribution strategy
  • Tailor core training curriculum to meet specific needs of each major account.

Reports to North American GM Service – Direct Sales


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must pass any drug screens, background checks and pre-employment tests as applicable.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics.
  • Previous employment and 5 years experience as a power generation technician and/or application engineer.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Institute graduate in related field
  • Five years of technical service or training experience within a related industry

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Ability to take direction well, either written or verbal
  • Effective presentation and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to be detail oriented and multi-task while maintaining a sense of urgency
  • Willingness to travel as required
