Position Summary:

The Technologist Aide assists the technologists in technical and patient care duties. Maintains supplies, responsible for radiology exam tracking, radiology film library tasks, radiology records coordination, light PACS administration, assisting with mammography tracking in accordance with MQSA, handles reception and clerical duties as required, and other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. The Technologist Aide will use clear, concise and comprehensive communication in their interactions with BMC radiologists and EBNHC technologists. Also, the Technologist Aide is responsible for CT pre-authorization, perform patient registration related activities for the department. This includes the delivery of exceptional customer service and the accurate and comprehensive collection, verification, and data entry of demographic, insurance, and account information.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains inventory of a wide variety of general, medical and radiologic supplies in each imaging room. Stocks rooms with supplies as required and time permits and in accordance with Health Center compliance requirements.  Inquires with Materials Distribution and/or purchasing as needed to track late or missing orders. Sets up accessory equipment and stocks rooms with medical supplies necessary for the examination. 
  • Assist Mammography Coordinator as needed, including producing normal mammography result letters, scheduling internal and external diagnostic mammograms and managing the mammography referral pool.
  • Track all CT, x-ray, bone density, and ultrasound exams performed by the radiology department to their final completed status in PACS and will ensure that all finalized reports are correct in terms of body part and exam type and will also screen for gross errors in dictation or typography.

  • Reads, understands and complies with all Standards of Conduct, JCAHO policies and all laws related to position responsibilities and employment at NeighborHealth.
  • Upholds safety policies, practices, and procedures including safety, fire safety, electrical safety, proper body mechanics and material handling, office/ergonomic safety and other employee safety measures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • Bilingual skills preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 – 3 years of experience in a high-volume environment performing tasks requiring a high degree of accuracy and follow-up.
