Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants is looking for a Total Rewards Temp Team Member to support our growing restaurant group at our Downers Grove Restaurant Support Center. As part of the Total Rewards Team, the Total Rewards Temp will be responsible for ensuring timely processing of unemployment claims, administering hourly leave of absence requests, and supporting various People Department Teams such as Risk & Safety.

What You’ll Do:

• Respond to unemployment claims timely and accurately, including:
  • Determine type of claim.
  • Gather documentation and support materials.
  • Partner with Total Rewards Specialist and Core HR as applicable.
• Administer hourly leave of absence process by:
  • Reviewing the daily status report.
  • Providing updates to Restaurant Management.
  • Assisting Team Members through the leave process and responding to questions.
  • Maintaining leave status in Paylocity.
• Administer the Employee Assistance Plan including monthly communication, NRO kits and quarterly reviews.
• Partner with NRO team to administer the NRO Recognition program.
• Fulfill employee life events requests (i.e., flowers, baby, wedding gift, funeral).
• Sort mail for HR departments.
• Support restaurant openings by compiling marketing materials, as applicable.
• Update and maintain process documents such as rollout guides, job aids, SOPs, etc.
• Process invoices as needed.
• Assist the Risk & Safety department by:
  • Pulling video footage for risk and safety incidents that may take place in our restaurants.
  • Assisting in the setup for urgent care for new restaurant openings.
  • Providing NRO Welcome Packets for the Corporate Shoe Program.

What You’ll Need

• Must represent Cooper’s Hawk values.
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented with proven organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize work and change gears easily in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• General understanding of HR laws as it relates to compliance.
• Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity.
• Prior experience with HR Information Systems a plus.
• Restaurant or retail industry experience a plus.
