The Vice President role based out of Houston, in our Energy and Chemicals Transition (“ECT”) will be responsible for the coverage of our existing Global Banking (“GB”) relationships, primarily in the oil and gas and energy transition group. The position will be responsible for the creation of sector-based content to drive presentations and dialogue with GB clients and to provide support to Financial Sponsors on related ECT transactions. The candidate would be expected to establish a holistic understanding of clients’ needs and to deliver innovative high value solutions across all product lines, gaining significant business and sustainable returns for the Group.

As our Vice President, Global Banking Coverage Energy and Chemicals Transition you will:

  • Develop and maintain ‘trusted advisor’ relationship and access at key decision maker level for assigned current and target clients
  • Work to reposition the firm to higher value strategic solicitation, enhancing the perception of the Bank amongst its existing and prospective clients
  • Co-ordinate origination and execution of ‘event-driven’ or major ‘significant flow’ business
  • Aggressively grow HSBC’s share of client wallet, involving product specialists to ensure product capabilities are in line with client/sector requirements

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $170,000.00 and $190,000.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Track record of building & developing relationships at Treasurer/CFO/CEO/Board Level
  • Progressive investment banking, corporate banking, consulting or sector experience
  • A deep understanding of corporate finance and proven record of leading and motivating deal teams
  • Excellent knowledge of HSBC Group and products, and a strong network of contacts across all business areas
  • Proven record of proactively originating and execution event driven business
  • FINRA Series 79, 63 and 7 licenses are required in the role. A contingency period to obtain licensing can be provided at manager’s discretion
