Warehouse Lead (3rd Shift)
Overview/Purpose:
The Warehouse Lead is a member of the warehouse leadership team who provides oversight of work crews on the warehouse floor, monitors warehouse flow, provides work direction in coordination with the warehouse supervisor, and ensures that all daily/shift checklists are completed to standard. The Warehouse Lead’s primary responsibility is to be on the floor with secondary responsibility for being in process as-needed. Some administrative time is needed each day for paperwork, checklist
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receives daily direction from supervisor team and helps maintain safe, accurate, productive flow in the warehouse
- Assigns and re-assigns labor in the warehouse as needed based on goals and direction from the supervisors
- Monitors and reinforces warehouse rules and company standards for safety, quality, and productivity
- Provides coaching and feedback as needed to the workforce
- Serves as process SME and helps resolve issues related to process, equipment, and tools related to the warehouse
- Executes various audits, checklists, and other forms of verification of warehouse processes
- Gathers and monitors process metrics in the warehouse to provide effective, timely training
- Assists leadership team with root cause analysis of errors, solves problems as able and escalates issues appropriately when needed
- Audits performance and provides retraining for all employees as needed or directed by supervisors
- Supports 5/S and other continuous improvement initiatives in the warehouse
- Pairs with all new hires for onboarding process training and liaises with leadership team to provide feedback
- Completes other warehouse-related tasks as assigned by a supervisor or manager
- Supports leadership in other departments as assigned
Requirements:
- Must have 2+ years working in a manufacturing operation with experience in processing and packaging consumer goods products. Food industry experience highly preferred.
- Must have 2+ years of experience in working with RF (Radio Frequency) scanning devices.
- Must be able to work well with and command the respect of associates and team members and the ability to provide feedback and coaching.
- Must have a clear and concise understanding and respect for company policies as they apply to production requirements, safety, quality and environmental programs and concerns.
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills
- Excellent communication skills, bilingual a plus (English and Spanish)
- Understanding of data analysis and trends (data collection, evaluation, trending, and reporting of basic operating metrics)
- Basic mechanical aptitude/troubleshooting and thorough knowledge of production equipment operation.
- Ability to interact with digital systems
- Follow all Food Safety guidelines, such as but not limited to: GMPs, Allergen Program, HACCP, Sanitation,
- Strong Safety Record
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with internal and external customers.
- Ability to understand internal partners up and downstream from operations
- High degree of flexibility
- High energy and proven speed of execution
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This person has no direct reports but provides supervisory support throughout the warehouse as a representative of the warehouse supervisor. All warehouse personnel are responsible to take work direction from leads.
Hours and Travel:
- This position is located at the Mountville location, with overtime required as needed based on production goals including Saturday shifts as needed. This person may occasionally be asked to help cover for leads on other shifts on a case-by-case basis. Travel is not generally required for this position though some assignments and training may be held at the Mountville plant, or occasionally offsite with notice.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly required to work around operating equipment, stand, reach, pull, stoop and bend
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand. The employee is frequently required to use their hands and fingers to handle, feel objects, use tools or controls, and climb or balance.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, low levels of toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electric shock and explosives.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, some instances of this job may require work in areas where ear protection if necessary.

- New starting wage is $23.50 / hour (commensurate with experience and location). *Note that rate could change based on shift schedule.
