Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Ophthalmic Technology. Degree must be from a regionally accredited institution. Must have certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COT or COMT) by the Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (active standing). Minimum of two (2) years work experience as an ophthalmic technician. 
Preferred Qualifications:
Collegiate level teaching experience.

Job Summary:
The Tutor/Mentor will provide mentoring support and tutoring services in the areas of reading, writing, math, natural sciences, and other areas based upon TRIO students' needs. The Tutor/Mentor positions are temporary part-time. Tutoring and Mentoring sessions may be held individually or in groups. Tutors/Mentors will work closely with the TRIO Program Coordinator to outline and follow up on student needs.
Job Duties:
Maintain accurate records of tutoring activities including timesheets. Review course assignments, homework, tests and quizzes. Provide monthly reports on students' progress. Clarify concepts not fully understood by student. Attend required tutor training sessions. Provide assistance with recruitment and retention as needed. Facilitate group mentoring sessions. Minimum Qualifications:
Must have received an "A" in course to be tutored.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated student leadership experience. Ability to tutor in Math and Science. Experience as a mentor.
