Chair of Pharmaceutical Sciences The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites nominations and applications for the position of CHAIR of Pharmaceutical Sciences (at Associate or Full Professor rank). The successful candidate will be a talented and trusted regional/national leader, who will cultivate and embrace excellence in research, teaching, and service in a predominantly Mexican-American community. This year-round position represents a unique opportunity for an outstanding individual to continue to strategically grow the pharmaceutical sciences team to drive innovative research in diverse disciplines while providing continued support for the integrated curriculum in a relatively new School of Pharmacy at UTEP. Appointment at the Associate Professor/Professor level with the opportunity for administrative advancement in the Dean's office is commensurate with a history of excellence in scholarship, teaching, and leadership. RESPONSIBILITIES: This Chair will be expected to: (1) establish and maintain a nationally recognized, federally-funded research program in pharmaceutical sciences; (2) recruit and retain pharmaceutical sciences researchers from varied disciplines; (3) work with UTEP administration to advocate for continued growth and success in pharmaceutical sciences; (4) contribute to and continuously improve the foundational pharmaceutical sciences curriculum using innovative teaching models; (5) work with the School of Pharmacy to maintain accreditation status; (6) collaborate with well-established and funded graduate programs in biomedical sciences, basic sciences, and/or other health-related sciences to support graduate student success; (7) provide leadership and mentoring for the Pharmaceutical Sciences Team including faculty development, budget management, and other administrative functions; (8) engage a culturally diverse Doctor of Pharmacy student body in research experiences; and (9) maintain a university and national record of service. Assistant Professor- Structural Biochemist The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry within the College of Science at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) is seeking applications for a tenure-track assistant professor faculty position in biochemistry pertaining to Structural Biology (cryo-EM). The successful candidate will be expected to bring a new dimension to the Department while complementing its existing strengths in both the interdisciplinary and traditional fields. The candidate should possess expertise in cryo-EM for elucidating the structure and function of biological macromolecular assemblies at atomic level resolution. This includes experience in protein purification, sample application to grids, hands on experience with an electron microscope, and extensive experience in data processing for cryo-EM reconstruction as demonstrated with first author publications indicating expertise in the application of cryo-EM methodology. A successful candidate is expected to actively engage at a departmental level through curricular development activities, lead the expansion of the program through collaborations with other faculty, and attract external funding at levels needed to build and sustain his/her research program. Job Requirements: An earned doctorate biochemistry, structural biology or related field, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary and problem-based research as well as publications in relevant areas. Assistant Professor- Structural Biochemist

Research Assistant Professor in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2 positions) The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) School of Pharmacy is seeking to recruit two non-tenure track Research Assistant Professors on 3-year contracts in all areas of clinical pharmacy research as part of the UTEP Regents' Research Excellence Program (RREP). The RREP program aims to enhance the research competitiveness of the UT System and UT institutions. Preference will be given to candidates who will apply their expertise in health disparities in our predominately Hispanic population and utilize clinical settings or clinical datasets. Additionally, preferred candidates will have experience addressing important questions related to population health including access to healthcare, quality of healthcare, medication and treatment adherence, vaccine uptake, and disease prevention studies. Additional areas of preference include: 1) developing and/or improving behavioral interventions that can facilitate improved patient care or service delivery to advance pharmacy practice in the region, 2) pharmacoepidemiological studies to assess the safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness of medications in our population, 3) pharmacy practice research to include the evaluation of new and existing services, 4) workload measurement, 5) pharmacoeconomics, and 6) quality management within our region. Open Rank (2 Positions) The University of Texas at El Paso College of Nursing invites applications for tenured/tenured-track faculty positions at the academic rank of Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor to begin in fall 2025. The tenured/tenure-track faculty appointment carries the expectation for teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level as appropriate. The candidates are expected to provide service within the College of Nursing, UTEP, the nursing profession, and the local community. The successful tenure track Assistant Professor candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an externally funded research program. The successful tenure track Associate Professor candidate will be expected to maintain a developed externally funded research program. The successful tenured full Professor candidate will be expected to conduct their established program of research. There are two positions currently open, one tenured track and one tenured. Job Requirements: All candidates are required to have a PhD and a Master of Science in Nursing degree. A PhD in Nursing is preferred; but a PhD in a related field will be considered. All candidates must be eligible for an RN or APRN license in Texas.
