As a Nursing Academic Specialist for a certified Great Place to Work, you will guide nursing students to do more than change their own lives – you will help change the lives of every patient they treat throughout their careers in healthcare. &nbsp;At West Coast University you will have the opportunity to share your success story with the next generation of nurses as a key member of our student-centered, innovative community!</p><p><strong>You will make an impact by: &nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Supporting students learning through workshops, remediation sessions, group tutorials, and one-on-one meetings to improve course performance.</li><li>Ensuring full integration of ATI tools and resources in all student meetings to enhance remediation and concept understanding.</li><li>Creating methods of integrating strategies to increase test taking skills, study skills and note taking skills to increase course performance.</li><li>Collaborating with faculty to identify course weaknesses and develop innovative initiatives to address them.</li><li>Collaborating with faculty to identify Students at Risk for persistence issues and develops action plans to address their needs.</li><li>Identifying Students at Risk through data tracking platforms and develops interventions to address identified challenges to core course success and persistence.</li><li>Assessing the effectiveness of course specific persistence strategies and progress in meeting mutually established objectives with students.</li><li>Participating in professional development and organizations in order to maintain an understanding of current ideas, research and practices, attends meetings, workshops and seminars to enrich personal growth, knowledge and skill in student learning and persistence.</li><li>Evaluating data such as proctored assessments, time in tutorial sessions and pre/post tests on comprehensive predictors to appropriately advise the Manager of Persistence and Outcomes, Nursing.</li></ul><p><strong>Your Experience Includes: &nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and other MS office products as needed.</li><li>Working with online learning management systems to further engage the student learning process.</li><li>Knowledge in technological support and delivery of program area and services.</li><li>Compliance with state, federal and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance, and other regulatory standards such as state Board of Healthcare.</li></ul><p><strong>Education:</strong> Education and experience must align with state regulations and comply with the rules and regulations of state authorization agencies.</p><ul><li>Master’s degree in nursing, education or administration required.</li><li>Professional nurse licensure required.</li><li>A minimum of two years as a Registered Nurse providing direct patient care or equivalent and/or education.</li></ul><p>#LI-AM1</p><p>#HEJ</p><p><strong>Do you want a career that allows you to make a difference in other people’s lives?
