<p>As the mental health counselor, you will be responsible for conduct outreach programming and attending weekly case conferences. In this role you will consult with various departments as needed and provide clinical supervision to department trainees or interns. You will develop and present psychoeducational programs as assigned and be expected to document contact with students in a timely manner in the computerized documentation system. As the counselor you will provide crisis intervention for students, including answering phone calls. We have two emergency departments where patients receive skilled care from highly trained and passionate health care professionals. The ED APRN will staff day shifts and evening shifts, with sporadic overnight coverage within one of the two emergency departments. All shifts will be 10 hours - 3 shifts per week. They will work as part of a team to provide high level care for children, birth-18 years, with a variety of chief medical complaints. It is designed for quick turnover of patients to help keep the flow of the Operating Room and PACU running smoothly and efficiently. It has a nurses' station, medication room, storage room, dirty utility area and a nutrition room. The patient population consists of, but is not limited to, extended stay patients, surgical patients who require observation post-op when not meeting SDS discharge criteria, cath lab patients and any other patients requiring a short stay. These observation admissions are typically 3-6 hours in length. During times of high hospital census, post-surgical patients requiring an overnight admission will be admitted to 3 West until an inpatient room is available.</p><p>Registered nurses provide illness management and health promotion for patients and families who require care. Registered staff nurses utilize the nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age appropriate nursing care for their assigned patients. Registered staff nurses provide patient and family education and advocate for their needs. Since 1971, we have provided support to health care facilities throughout Missouri and Kansas, as well as nationally and internationally. Our team is cross trained in neonatal and pediatric patients, with an RN/RT/EMT configuration. We handle approximately 6,000 transports per year with special services that include ECMO, High Frequency Ventilation, Nitric, therapeutic cooling, and Maternal Fetal transports. Our continued commitment to excellence in transport medicine has earned our team national and international recognition, including the honor of Neonatal/Pediatric Transport Award of Excellence from the Association of Air Medical Services. Our communication center is staffed with certified flight communication specialists and our team is ready to answer the call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
