 Position Summary: To provide quality instruction for student learning and to maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom. The major emphasis will be placed on teaching and evaluating students in the classroom and laboratories.

 Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi. 2. Supervising the study and learning activities of students assigned. 3. Submitting requests through the department head, program coordinator, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids. 4. Evaluating the academic progress of students. 5. Demonstrating knowledge of services, regulations, and procedures as defined in the Adjunct Faculty Handbook. 6. The Nights &amp; Weekends RN arranges for, teaches, and supervises nursing care of patients in home care and facility settings in collaboration with other members of the Interdisciplinary Group. The Nights &amp; Weekends RN makes nursing assessments and uses critical thinking skills to provide care based on evidence-based practice.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThe Nights &amp; Weekends RN is responsible for supervising LPNs, CNAs, and Continuous Care&nbsp; RNs/LPNs.Experience RequirementsThe Nights &amp; Weekends RN must have must have at least one year of staff nurse experience in a&nbsp; comparable setting/unit. Hospice and/or palliative care experience is strongly preferred.Education RequirementsThe Nights &amp; Weekends RN must have at least a degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing&nbsp; program. A BSN degree is preferred.Required Certificates and/or LicensesThe Nights &amp; Weekends RN must have licensure from the governing body for practice for the&nbsp; District of Columbia, State of Maryland, and/or the Commonwealth of Virginia, based on the&nbsp; state/jurisdiction of practice; or licensure from compact state.
