Check out our main career site for more details at <a href="http://www.proliancesurgeons.com/careers" target="_blank">www.proliancesurgeons.com/careers</a>Be Part of Who We Are!Key Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>Work with all members of the health care team to provide optimal care to the patient throughout their surgical experience.</li><li>Maintain a friendly, positive and caring attitude with all patients, physicians and staff.</li><li>Assist in patient education during the pre-admission phase of their surgical experience at the Center.</li><li>Document appropriately the pre-surgical assessment and any care needs required by the patient on the day of service.</li><li>Continue education to meet State requirements and keep current with health care.</li><li>Display professionalism at work and in the community as a representative of the Center.</li><li>Take an active role on committees within the department.</li><li>Identifies actual and potential risk to patients and others and takes action to minimize or eliminate risk and maximize safety.</li></ul>Qualifications, Education and Work Experience<ul><li>Ambulatory Surgery Center nursing experience</li><li>Experience reviewing medical records and redacting pertinent information to the context of the care being provided</li><li>Graduation from an accredited school of nursing</li><li>CPR, ACLS and PALS accreditation, or will obtain within 3 months of hire</li><li>High school graduate or equivalent</li><li>Current Washington State RN license required</li><li>1-2 years’ experience in a medical office a plus</li><li>Familiarity with or working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records</li><li>Basic computer knowledge and skills, including data entry&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities<ul><li>Knowledge of pre-surgical care, including strong assessment skills and recognition of reportable concerns</li><li>Strong critical thinking and ability to recognize medical conditions that may increase a patient’s risk of having surgery</li><li>Familiarity with anesthesia medication effects and knowledge of medical concerns that may increase patient’s risk of undergoing anesthesia</li><li>Understanding of operative procedures, required patient preparations, and expected post-operative course</li><li>Problem-solving skills</li><li>Outpatient clinical organizational ability</li><li>Ability to remove oneself personally from given situations, remaining objective</li><li>Ability to exhibit cooperation, flexibility, and provide assistance when interfacing with patients, physician and staff</li><li>Ability to multi-task</li><li>Skilled in organizing and reporting information that is accurate and complete</li><li>Understanding of the need for and evidence of consistent respect for confidentiality/HIPAA</li><li>Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations</li><li>Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all staff</li><li>Ability to prepare records in accordance with detailed instructions</li><li>Ability to communicate clearly</li><li>Consistency and timeliness in attendance</li></ul>Work Environment/Physical DemandsThe work environment/physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.&nbsp; Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Work may be performed in an office and clinical environment.&nbsp; Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.&nbsp; While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear.&nbsp; The associate is required to sit for long periods of time, stand and walk, bend and stretch.&nbsp; Use of telephone and computer is required.&nbsp; Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.
