The Cardiopulmonary Technician will immediately review and validate alarms to reduce “false alarms” and improve detection of actual adverse events by providing a consistent method for EKG monitoring and enhancing patient safety. Additionally, the cardiopulmonary technician will be responsible for maintaining equipment to ensure proper function. This includes proper placement and function of all cables and monitors connected to patient. The Cardiopulmonary Technician must have a working knowledge and understanding of all models of monitors utilized, be able to perform configuration on any specific monitor, replace defective equipment, report any equipment malfunctions to initiate repair, and maintain equipment inventory.
