We are an organization supported largely by volunteers from Jacksonville’s private, public, and nonprofit sectors committed to creating a community of inclusion for all Jacksonville residents and throughout the state of Florida. Position SummaryThe Finance Manager is responsible for bookkeeping, financial management, and other services to ensure that 904WARD has industry-standard accounting practices and accurate financial reporting.  We are looking for a competent Finance Manager to provide the day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping services as well as assist with developing financial processes and procedures.To be an excellent Finance Manager, you must be organized and detail-oriented, comfortable working with diverse teams with varying levels of financial knowledge, and able to work at a fast pace. The goal will be to ensure that we have accurate accounting that allows us to know our financial position, accurately categorize and report financials, and examine trends to make appropriate financial predictions. If you have experience in nonprofit bookkeeping and accounting, we’d like to meet you.ResponsibilitiesThe Finance Manager reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for:<ul><li>Maintaining internal financial books for 904WARD according to generally accepted accounting practices, including separate classes for each program;</li><li>Reviewing and updating existing internal control processes and procedures as necessary;</li><li>Leading the monthly financial close process;</li><li>Reconciling bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and journal entries;</li><li>Reviewing transactions imported into the accounting system, ensuring appropriate accruals and transaction classes;</li><li>Leading the annual budget process, helping to develop organizational budget and advising department leads in managing departmental budgets;</li><li>Develop and manage appropriate departmental budgets (ie, Finance and General and Operating);</li><li>Processing payroll and direct deposit payments to contractors; </li><li>Generating management reports and basic financial statements;</li><li>Generating quarterly board reports as well as monthly revenue and expense reports for restricted grants, including grant balances;</li><li>Preparing for annual financial audit and interface with external audit team;</li><li>Periodically consulting with management around financial issues; and</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Qualifications The ideal candidate will combine a passion for achieving racial justice with exceptional accounting, bookkeeping, and financial management skills.
