Under the general supervision of the Fire Chief, the Deputy Chief performs responsible management, technical and administrative work to assist in the strategic planning, organizing, managing, directing, controlling, and coordination of activities, personnel, resources and operations of the Fire Department; along with other duties as assigned. The Deputy Fire Chief is a key member of the Executive Leadership team and is expected to serve in a professional, executive-level role. The Salisbury Fire Department is a progressive, busy, urban fire department that provides Fire &amp; EMS services to over 63,000 residents; responding to over 16,000 calls for service annually. The department operates out of three stations and covers approximately 50 square miles. Currently, the department staffs two engines, one ladder truck, four ambulances, and Duty Chief.Preferred EducationSuccessful completion of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer (EFO) Program and/or Chief Fire Officer (CFO) credentialing through the Center for Public Safety Excellence.Preferred ExperienceTwelve years of progressive leadership experience in the Salisbury Fire Department or a similar sized organization, with at least two (2) years of experience at the rank of Assistant or Battalion Fire Chief; or higher.Requirements/CertificationsBachelor’s Degree or one-hundred and twenty (120) college credits from an accredited college or university. Position SummaryUnder the supervision of the Director of Finance, the Assistant Director of Finance - Operations is a key member of the Finance team. This position will be responsible for reconciling accounts receivable, grant accounting, and other general ledger accounts. The Assistant Director will be responsible for assisting with the budget and annual audit. The Assistant Director will provide support to the Director of Finance as needed to support the Finance office in delivering efficient and effective municipal services at a high level of customer satisfaction.Preferred EducationBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.Preferred ExperienceA minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional accounting and administrative experience in local government finance, four (4) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.Requirements/CertificationsExcellent written and verbal communication skills.&nbsp;Experience with Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel.

Assistant Director of Finance - Operations

Position SummaryThe Construction Manager oversees the City’s capital construction program and inspection staff. Projects include infrastructure work in the City’s right of way and on City properties and developer construction of public infrastructure. The Construction Manager will also manage the City’s stormwater inspection program. This candidate will be responsible for all construction planning and contract management including estimating, schedules, payments, change orders, inspections, and close out. The Manager will supervise multiple construction inspection staff members. They will collaborate closely with engineers, city planners, surveyors, procurement staff, and City administration. Position also requires coordination with all authorities having jurisdiction.Preferred EducationDegree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture, or completion of trade program preferred.Preferred ExperienceFive (5) years experience working on capital construction projects with two years experience supervising construction management, inspection, or trade staff.Requirements/CertificationCertifications from CMAA, ACI, MAA, NICET, and related organizations are preferred.&nbsp;Valid Driver’s License.

Construction Manager

The Assistant Director: IT manages the day to day operations of the IT division of the Information Services Department. Serves as the organization’s point of contact on IT matters. Provides supervision and direction for personnel assigned to the IT division. Assists in the planning and implementation of the yearly budget needed to sustain IT efforts within the Information Services Department. Assists in the development of operational guidelines and policies regarding IT. Coordinates with all other city departments to ensure accurate and adequate systems and services are being delivered. Acts as liaison, overseeing IT related programs, projects and services for all city departments. Assists in performing system administration, network administration, cyber security tasks, and other duties as assigned.
