Title: Allied Health Educator

POSITION SUMMARY
The Allied Health Educator is responsible for effectively developing, maintaining and providing health careers training for the College’s non-credit workforce programs, which include both continuing education for professional development and industry-recognized credential attainment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides training for non-credit health careers classes. Evaluates and reports program progress. Maintains communication with clinical partners. Establishes and maintains appropriate records for each student. Conducts or oversees clinical competency examinations, monitors student progress and maintains comprehensive records on student performance. Confers with and advises students on their clinical performance and progress.

Adheres to clinical training guidelines consistent with the assigned program’s didactic and clinical training content. Conducts and oversees clinical demonstrations and lab sessions. Maintains the quality of clinical training and its conformance to certification standards. Delivers training in accordance with approved course description, learning outcomes and schedule. Delivers training to a set curriculum plan with clear learning outcomes and competencies.

Prepares a course syllabus in advance of the course start date. Ensures that lesson plans and training materials for the full course are relevant and current. Conducts all class sessions at the scheduled time. Responds to student inquiries and provides feedback on student assignments promptly. Coordinates with other educators in the program to ensure curriculum continuity across courses. Adapts training techniques based on feedback from students and program stakeholders and implements sound pedagogical practices. Completes educator onboarding, relevant learning technology training and other training as needed or required. Complies with FERPA, HIPAA and other privacy laws and policies. Assists in development of new training program curricula as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree in a healthcare-related field.

Five (5) or more years of clinical experience in a related healthcare field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Allied Health Educator certification.

Instructional experience.

Experience with non-credit instruction and/or adult learning.

Prior experience training/teaching/presenting in an online environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery methods. Knowledge of current industry practices regarding course content. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with diverse faculty, staff and student populations. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ability to use LMS systems for instructional delivery. Knowledge of FERPA and HIPPA privacy regulations and policies.

Demonstrated competency in a relevant healthcare or professional services field. Ability to design and implement lesson plans that align learning objectives with student outcomes. Ability to develop and adapt teaching and learning strategies to accommodate a diverse student population to promote the acquisition and application of knowledge. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to deliver content in non-traditional settings, including but not limited to hybrid, online and community-based settings. Ability to work days, nights or weekends to accommodate course schedules. Ability to travel throughout the College’s service area, including its seven campuses and other locations in the community where courses may be held.

Rate of Pay: $42,601 to annually $65,179, depending on experience
