Special Title Series (tenure-eligible) Faculty Position – Clinical Leadership and Management Program, Department of Health & Clinical Sciences
The Clinical Leadership & Management Program, Department of Health & Clinical Sciences, College of Health Sciences (CHS) at the University of Kentucky is accepting applications for a full-time 11-month special title (tenure-eligible) faculty member. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled. The Clinical Leadership & Management (CLM) Program is fully certified through the Association of University Professors of Health Administration (AUPHA) and is also Essential Employability Qualities (EEQ) certified through the QA Commons. It prepares future healthcare leaders and administrators to lead as communicators, thinkers & problem solvers, inquirers, and collaborators. The undergraduate program teaches applied skills in courses ranging from leadership to finance to human resources and culminates with a two-course practicum sequence in the health administration field. CLM graduates are prepared for entry-level careers in hospital/clinic operations, long-term care, patient experience, health nonprofits, policy, as well as graduate study. Primary duties of this faculty position will include teaching undergraduate healthcare business courses in the CLM program, such as evidence-based decision-making, healthcare finance, capstone, healthcare quality/safety, leadership, health information management, and other courses in the curriculum, depending on the candidate’s area(s) of expertise. The faculty member will also participate in curriculum development, advising/mentoring students, student admission activities, and other activities as assigned by the Program Director or Department Chair. Additional duties include participating in service across the department, college, and university levels. Scholarship and research activities are expected and supported as appropriate for special title series. The anticipated effort for this position is Instruction 65-75%, Research/Scholarship 10-20%, Service 8-10%, Professional Development 2-5%, and will be considered based on an annual agreement.
Required Qualifications:
