The Assistant Director of Annual Giving plays a vital role in advancing the mission of Holyoke Community College by developing and implementing comprehensive strategies to secure annual gifts from alumni, faculty, staff, parents, friends, and community partners. Working collaboratively with the marketing and development colleagues, this position drives the growth of the annual giving program through strategic multi-channel campaigns including direct mail, digital outreach, personalized video, peer-to-peer fundraising, and personal solicitation. Through data-driven analysis and creative engagement strategies, the Annual Giving Officer builds and strengthens donor relationships that support student success and institutional priorities.

This position reports to the Executive Director of Development.
  • Design and execute data-driven annual giving strategies to meet fundraising goals, with a focus on donor acquisition, retention, and increased giving levels.
  • Manage a portfolio of annual giving prospects and donors, conducting personal visits and maintaining regular communication to cultivate relationships.
  • Create and implement multi-channel donor engagement strategies with compelling messaging and coordinated timing, including but not limited to direct mail, email campaigns, peer-to-peer fundraising, personalized video outreach, and social media platforms.
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of annual giving campaigns, including giving days, end-of-year appeals, and targeted initiatives.
  • Partner with marketing colleagues to develop and execute effective solicitation materials across print, digital, and video platforms, ensuring alignment with institutional brand standards and campaign objectives.
  • Create and execute queries in Raiser's Edge to analyze giving trends, identify donor patterns, and segment constituents for targeted campaigns.
  • Export and manipulate data from Raiser's Edge to generate appeal progress reports, donor lists, and mailing lists for campaign execution.

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, nonprofit management, or related field;
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional fundraising or relevant transferable experience in sales, marketing, or constituent/client relations;
  • Experience with database/CRM systems, with ability to learn new technology platforms;
  • Demonstrated success in relationship building and constituent engagement;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities;
  • Ability to work in Google Suite and Microsoft Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with community college or higher education fundraising;
  • Prior experience with Raiser's Edge or similar fundraising CRM;
  • Knowledge of digital fundraising platforms (ThankView, GiveCampus, email marketing tools);
  • Strong understanding of social media best practices and digital engagement strategies;
  • Experience in developing and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns;
  • Highly developed skills in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Monday.com.

Full-time, Non-Unit Professional position

Salary Range: $68,783-$74,453/year (Grade 6) plus a comprehensive State benefits package

Hours: 37.5 hrs./week
