As the assistant director of community standards, you will oversee and update the disability services database to ensure it contains accurate information. You will promptly document student interactions in the computerized documentation system (Titanium) and maintain an updated schedule in both the master calendar and Titanium. You will contribute to departmental outreach, psychoeducational program development, and presentations to enhance awareness and understanding of disability services. Additionally, you will assist in the management of the student conduct database (Guardian) and serve as a resource for conflict resolution and restorative practices for individual students, including complainants and respondents.

In this role, you will collaborate with various university departments to assess collected evidence and documentation to determine the appropriate action for potential student conduct violations. You will inform your supervisor of staff development needs, prepare necessary reports for their signature and approval, and participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives to foster a positive and respectful campus climate. Additionally, you will engage in student conduct trainings, programs, and workshops.

As an assistant director, you will train SCADhome (residence life and housing) staff and academic faculty on issues related to the conduct process as outlined in the Student Handbook and Code of Student Conduct. You will ensure compliance with the policies and procedural requirements established by the Clery Act. You will also serve on the campus-wide, on-call rotation to respond to emergencies and provide guidance during crises.

They exhibit excellent interpersonal, communication, and record-keeping skills, along with the ability to manage cases effectively. The candidate also demonstrates a strong capability for administrative duties and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

This position is identified as essential personnel in the university's emergency and disaster response plans. In the event of a university closure or evacuation, all essential personnel shall report.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least two years of experience working with young adults or youth in an educational or group setting
  • Experience with electronic record-keeping and client management systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • At least two years of experience in student conduct or higher education resident life

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
