Overview

LMI is seeking a government contracts attorney with at least 2-5 years of in-house or law firm experience to join its dynamic Law Department. The LMI Law Department works closely with all areas of the Company to help achieve LMI’s business objectives while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance. This position will report to LMI’s General Counsel and will serve as LMI’s primary government contracts attorney.

Responsibilities

This position will serve as LMI’s primary expert in government contracts law and responsibilities include:  

  • Providing strategic counsel and support of LMI’s pursuit and performance of federal contracts;    
  • Managing bid protests (with outside counsel); 
  • Advising on contract claims; 
  • Negotiating business agreements; 
  • Handling export controls; 
  • Ethics and compliance; 
  • Conducting internal investigations and training; 
  • Advising on mergers and acquisitions 

Qualifications

  • Experience in all aspects of government contracts law, including FAR, DFARS, federal procurement statutes and regulations 
  • Juris Doctor degree, and barred in at least one state and the ability to qualify as Virginia Corporate Counsel certificate 
  • While a clearance is not required, candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
