Daytona International Speedway is a state-of-the-art motorsports facility and was awarded the SportsBusiness Journal’s prestigious Sports Business Award for Sports Facility of the Year in 2016. Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race” – the DAYTONA 500. Though the prestigious season-opening NASCAR Cup Series event garners most of the attention – as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the approximately 500-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." Among the nine major weekends of racing activity are the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA, the DAYTONA Supercross, the DAYTONA 200 motorcycle classic and the Coke Zero Sugar 400. Rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include track tours, concerts, civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo shoots, production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.
Daytona International Speedway is seeking event employees with audio visual technical expertise that will interact with our guests and participants during racing events and onsite special events. This position would also provide support for setting up, installation, and repair work as needed by the Venue Technology team before and during events.
This is a part-time positionthat will have an irregular schedule based around our event schedule.
JOB SUMMARY
- Support audio visual and public address aspects of Daytona Intl. Speedway related events. This includes large spectator events and track and client meeting room rentals. (not TV production)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Work closely with the DIS Operations, Venue Tech, and Special Event teams on upcoming events.
- Provide support in setting up, installing and necessary repair work for all audio/video related equipment.
- Support audio/video in fan areas to include the Fan Zone, D500 Club, Garage areas, as well as with special events held in the DIS Stadium.
- Assist the Event Operations team as need to support events.
- Help to maintain an inventory and operational readiness of AV equipment; assess existing equipment and provide updates on equipment issues.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
OTHER DUTIES
- Be a team player, helping others whenever assistance is needed.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT UTILIZED
- Basic office systems including but not limited to computer system & programs, cellular phone.
- Understanding of live sound public address systems (mixing consoles and speakers).
- Proficient with all types of hand and power tools.
- Able to work safely using different types of lifts.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience working fan-based events.
- Experience working with and near celebrities.
- Available to work extended hours at consecutive days.
- Experience with MS Office, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, AutoCAD, Photoshop and Adobe.
- Capable of lifting 50 – 75 pounds.
- Comfortable working on a ladder.currently certified or have operated a forklift or scissor lift.
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
Hours will vary but will include all hours the office is open, evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary to attend events and to fulfill job responsibilities. This is a part time position with an irregular schedule.

- Professional: Minimum of two years related experience. Projects a professional company image through verbal and written communication. Presents self in a professional manner and have ability to interact with all levels of organization internal and external.
- Interpersonal Skills: Listens to others, ability to follow oral and written instructions effectively, responds to manager’s instructions and accepts feedback.
- Personal: Project a positive image to internal (employees) and external (fans, vendor, other sports professional, community members) customers, communicate effectively and professionally at all times, comfort and experience with public speaking, exercise excellent managerial judgment, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, problem solve and be a team worker. Dependable transportation to and from work is required.
