Job Summary
This is a full-time, permanent fiscal year position in the Division of Finance.
Job Duties
- Analyzes and reconciles the personnel budget to ensure the finance system remains in balance. Creates budget revisions, processes transactions and confirms submitted budget documents are accurate and complete.
- Collaborates with departments on position budgeting, including requesting budget documents, answering department inquiries and creating/maintaining positions at the College.
- Researches budget variances and discrepancies. Initiates corrective action.
- Provides support in the preparation of the College’s semi-annual budget. Prepares the semi-annual personnel budget.
- Assists in analysis for budget planning, allocations and reductions. Prepares professional and executive summaries, budget presentations and financial reports.
- Assists departments with budgeting and accounting. This includes developing budgets, monitoring finances and generating reports to help departments resolve overextended accounts and salary deficits.
- Conduct Banner and Budget training to departmental users.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/business from an accredited college or university.
- One to three years budgeting, accounting and data analysis experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of accounting systems, internal controls and the ability to recommend improvements and assist in system conversions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with query and report writing tools.
- Ability to use analytical thinking to develop solutions to business problems and the capacity to exercise effective judgment and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
