Job Summary

2025 Community Economic Development Initiative of Kentucky (CEDIK) Summer Community Design Program



This program is an immersive eight-week fellowship experience utilizing students’ talents from various academic disciplines to collaborate on a community development design for Trimble County, KY. The project’s primary goal is to enhance community connections through intentional design, foster community engagement, assess potential for future tourism opportunities and create plans to revitalize communities in the county. This will assist elected officials and leaders in planning for current and future residents.



Preferred academic disciplines that will be considered include Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, Historic Preservation, Natural Resources, Hospitality Management & Tourism and Arts Administration. Interest in one or more of the following: small and rural communities; public engagement; urban design/ policy; planning; arts; and leadership development.



All students should be prepared to work in a team setting and independently under the direction of the program leader. They must be able to work with and listen to local residents as the experts of their own community.



There is a bi-weekly stipend, and CEDIK will cover all travel costs. The experience includes a three-day canoe and camping trip along the Ohio River.

Documents to submit – resume, cover letter and portfolio of design work, or sample of writing if not a design student.
