Salary Range
This position offers a compensation package that includes a combination of a standard tuition waiver (with the student responsible for any additional costs above standard) and a bi-weekly stipend of $800 per pay period.

Job Summary
The ideal candidate will be an individual who can commit to this role for two years.
The Commencement Graduate Assistant is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination and execution of the University of Kentucky’s December and May Commencement ceremonies. This role involves managing various aspects of the Commencement process, including website maintenance, registration, communication, inventory control, event logistics, and collaboration with College Coordinators. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational, communicating, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage day-to-day operations, preparations, and execution of Commencement ceremonies.
· Maintain and update the Commencement website.
· Oversee the Commencement registration process, including student communication and data management.
· Utilize Excel to manage student registration data, generate reports, and analyze commencement-related information.
· Coordinate and facilitate monthly meetings with Commencement coordinators from each College.
· Manage inventory of Commencement equipment, supplies, and signage.
· Periodically review vendor relationships in partnership with the Associate Director to optimize cost and service quality.
· Identify and implement continuous improvements to the Commencement experience.
· Lead projects and manage tasks independently.
· Assist in recruitment, training, and management of student volunteers for the day of Commencement.
· Utilize SharePoint to organize and maintain Commencement-related files and documents.
· Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills.
· Assist with other university events as needed.
