Full Time

As a community director, you will establish an active presence and availability within your assigned residential community. You will initiate interactions with students as an educator and adviser for academic and personal growth concerns. You will also be responsible for serving in the on-call rotation, to address and document student behavior, as a code of conduct hearing officer, and as an assistant for the housing selection process for all residents, including new and returning students and special program or workshop participants.

In this role, you will supervise and evaluate paraprofessional members and coordinate programming for your assigned area and department based on their individual missions and values. Regularly, you will conduct assessments to ensure said programming meets learning outcomes and target areas. You will also select and train staff; coordinate hall openings, closings, inspections, damage billings, and room consolidations; and manage budgets.

Minimum Qualifications:      

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Prior experience in a college residential setting or group living environment

Preferred Qualifications:      

  • Master's degree in higher education, student development, counseling, or a related field
  • Live-in, residence life and housing experience as a graduate student

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:  

  • Valid driver’s license

Travel Required:  

  •    Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
