The U.S. Department of Transportation, Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (Volpe),is a federal government agency looking for a dynamic executive to serve in the position of:

The Center for Safety Management and Human Factors is one of four Technical Centers at Volpe whose function is to undertake transportation policy analysis and research that contributes to a compelling vision of the 21st Century transportation enterprise.  The Technical Center Director oversees five divisions with approximately 120 employees, a portfolio of 100 projects, and annual obligations of $70M.  Candidates should be an experienced manager who understands how to use creativity and innovation to help USDOT achieve its goals.  Strong executive level interpersonal skills are needed to forge strong working relationships and to exercise sound management practices in a fee-for-service entrepreneurial environment.
